Maldivian Higher Education Minister meets ISDC for Cooperation and Internationalization of Maldives Education Sector

Mumbai, 15th July 2022: Maldivian Higher Education Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hasan held a meeting with ISDC officials today to expand and implement the Indian education model in Maldives. The Minister and his team held a special meeting with Mr. Tom Joseph, Executive Director – Strategy & Development, ISDC and Ms. Teresa Jacobs, Executive Director – Learning, ISDC in Bangalore. ISDC is the leading International Education Company promoting British Education & Skills. The UK based company is already working with an excess of 700 Universities and aims to bridge the skill gap globally with a team of highly skilled professionals and has supported thousands of students achieving their dreams.

Dr. Ibrahim also held meeting with Dr. Ashwath Narayan, Minister of Higher Education, Karnataka and briefed him about the initiatives taken by the Government in implementing NEP. He also briefed the minister about their initiatives with ISDC like the inclusion of the design thinking in the curriculum and data literacy projects from the school level.

The Minister has expressed its interest to collaborate with ISDC for the introduction of British professional bodies into the country and to explore avenues of internationalization through the Scottish Qualifications Authority. Dr. Ibrahim has also expressed his interest to follow ISDC model in Karnataka such as Design Thinking with World Design Council (WDC) and Data Literacy with Institute of Analytics (IoA). The Minister has been invited to UK for the next level meeting with the ISDC Global Headquarters later this month.

On this occasion Mr. Tom Joseph, Executive Director – Strategy & Development, ISDC said, “India is gradually becoming the emerging hub for higher education and attracting the students globally. We are glad to be a part of this journey and contributing to this growth. This is an honorable moment for us to share the table with Dr. Ibrahim and get inspired with his efforts and commitment to improve and globalize the higher education system in the Maldives. We plan to collaborate in creating education projects influenced by Indian higher education policies – the NEP model, which includes Design Thinking, and imparting data education accredited by the Institute of Analytics (IoA).” He further adds the upcoming Design Festival, will play a crucial role in boosting knowledge exchange between the two countries. We intend to keep the education level in Maldives moving forward through this collaboration.
